SUMMARY

Killian Lambson: Carrie Crayonnaise

Role

Map Designer

Intention (SMART Goal)

By May 10th, as the Map artist, I will have proof of making several unique maps by following “monkey game tutoral” for session 5

PRE-PRODUCTION – INQUIRY

Leader(s) in the Field / Exemplary Work(s)

Notes

This person is a very exceptional person because they know what they are talking about. You can tell this person is very serious and mistreats his employees because of how serious he is. He also has a Twitter account, and Twitter users always know everything about everything. He also is very surprised that girls and college students play video games. As you can tell he really is very super exceptional because he is really cool and exceptionally exceptional.

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

I was a problem solver when I helped come up with solutions for problems that nobody else could find, I was just creative when I came up with secret towers for maps, I was a critical thinker when I figured out what was most important to work on during class, and I was innovative when I said no to adding dart monkeys to the game.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

I communicated with my team to figure out what maps they wanted me to make, and how those maps would work.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

I successfully used information when I copied Jasper’s code for the team’s benefit.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

I developed the life skill of trust issues.

Reactions to the Final Version

The judge said that our game was too easy (after they used the cheat to give them infinite money), and they said that our credit area was bad (they didn’t look at our credits), and said that the maps were not big enough.

0Self-Evaluation of Final Version

I thought that this was the most SUCCESsful game we have made yet.

what I learned

I learned to never ever trust anyone. Ever.

Grammar and Spelling

I use Grammarly.

MAR 20 – Mar 24 Weekly Work Log

Session Number: 5
Week Number: 1
Total Estimated Hours Contributed this Week: 3
What was your overall goal for this week: finish details for the canyon map port, and start the nuclear map.

Work Tasks

Date Task Description Time Spent Was this a Best Practice?
20thWork on canyon map port for newest version of the game30 minutes —
21stWork on canyon mechanics w/jasperWhole period —
22stContinue to work with jasper on canyon mechanicsWhole period —
23rd Work on the class google sheets / finished canyon map30 mins / rest of period —
 24th AbsentEntire school day—

Personal Comments (Optional)

Are there any other comments you would like to include? If so, please enter them here: I finished the canyon map completely, which I’m happy with. I wish that I could have worked on the nuclear wasteland map, but unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time. This is likely because of the canyon’s more complex mechanics. I don’t think that the nuclear wasteland map will have any features that are hard to code, so I believe that it will be quicker to map.

Session 4 Production Project

Bahman Farzad: cat

SUMMARY

Role

Sound Designer, I make sounds.

Intention (SMART Goal)

By March 1st, as a sound designer, I will have evidence of a custom-made sound by following “so you want to make a sound” for session 4

PRE-PRODUCTION – INQUIRY

Leader(s) in the Field / Exemplary Work(s)

Notes

This person is so exceptional and epic because of how cool they are. They said “Hello” 4 times in about 5 seconds which is pretty impressive and not a lot of people can do that. He also made music in the background that went all like “boop beep bob boop beep la beep” and it was really cool. Not to mention he said the title of his video in the video which was really cool and a very exceptional thing to do when making a video because it’s a cool reference to the title of the video. all this combined makes this person obviously extremely exceptional compared to other exceptional people who people describe as exceptional compared to other exceptional people.

Training Source(s)

Notes

0:01 – his name is Jeremy

0:50 we hear from 20-20000 hertz

1:25 the big line is the fundamental

2:15 sine wave is a smooth pure expression of tone

5:35 fundamental fluctuates more on strings than on the piano

7:13: a sound is a fundamental tone or note + harmonics

Project Timeline

Jan 23 – Mar 3

-We will start off by forcing jasper to make a prototype

-We take that prototype and add things to it

-we make a somewhat quality beta thing

-Change of plans, we are doing something different now

-Get the new version of the game somewhat working

-Coding is too complex, we are switching it up again

-The newest version is working, but the game is not very good.

-Sounds are finally added but they sound kinda bad

-Give up on the game, its good enough

Proposed Budget

3 dollars (about 3 dollars), a rubber band (about 15 dollars), and a piece of chewed gum (free in most public buses), we will need at least 3 days.

PRODUCTION – ACTION

The (FILM, SOUND, or GAME Creation)

Skills Commentary

I made all of the sounds with my mouth and a microphone. I tried to add other things to the game but none of them for in

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving)

I was creative with the sounds that I made. I wouldn’t say I was innovative, a critical thinker, or a problem solver, seeing that I only really made sounds

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

I communicated with my team on what sounds I should make for certain actions in the game.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

construct and school computers.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

I learned that waiting around for someone to tell you what to do doesn’t always work, and sometimes you just need to go out and do something.

Reactions to the Final Version

The person who reacted to the final version said that the graphics needed improving and that we needed a clear condition.

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

This has to be one of the worst games we have made so far, but I’m not really surprised seeing how messy the development was.

what I learned

Do work, get stuff done.

Grammar and Spelling

I use Grammarly.

SUMMARY

Role

UI / Heads Up Display

Intention (SMART Goal)

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

huh?

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

I tried to communicate with my partners to get our project done.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

I don’t understand

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

I explain it more in the “what I learned” section, but I now know that sometimes you just need to take charge and help guide your colleagues in the right direction.

Reactions to the Final Version

what

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

it was defiantly simple, platformers have been done a thousand times, but we didn’t make it to any of the other points.

what I learned

I learned that sometimes you just need to yell at the people you’re working with. They’re gonna be annoying and sometimes you just need to take control and tell them what to do. As a group, we wasted a lot of time working on things that don’t even really matter and could have probably gotten our project to the point it was in half the time if someone was there to just pull the group together and get it all done. I also learned how key organization is, It got pretty annoying when I had “the normal platformer” downloaded on my computer 5 times.
